The new school year is upon us. For you – and for parents up and down the country – this is your opportunity to squeeze in a ‘back to school’ cleaning session. Ultimately, this means you can re-establish a sense of order and make things sparkle again as you pack your kids off back to the classroom. Let’s look at three cleaning tips that should come in handy over the next few weeks.
Don’t enlist the kids
You’ll surely be overcome with an ‘all hands on deck’ mentality. However, you should avoid enlisting the kids. Cleaning takes a certain level of skill and precision, something that most children just won’t be able to bring to the job. There’s also the fact that scrubbing toilets and cleaning under the bed can bring upon illness if not done properly – and you certainly won’t want your youngsters being poorly during their first few weeks of the new school year.
Don’t put it off
The ‘back to school’ clean might not happen until right before your kids are due back in school. In some cases, it might not even happen until they’re sat in the classroom. This is fine. You shouldn’t, however, put off the job for too long. Don’t underestimate that your motivation to keep things clean might subside as you get deeper and deeper into September. You might even lose all your drive once you and your family fall back into the busy routine of a new school term.
Don’t make it a one-off
A ‘back to school’ clean is rather honourable – but your house and family deserve more than this happening just once a year. There’s so much to be gained from having a squeaky clean home, so try and build upon what you’ve done in the weeks and months that follow. Of course, if you haven’t got the time or resources to do this throughout the year then you can always call in the experts to give you a helping hand.
